Tantalum Aluminide Description
There are two tantalum aluminides, TaAl3 and Ta3Al. They are stable, refractory and reflective, and have been proposed as mirror coatings for use in the IR.

Tantalum Aluminide Applications
Tantalum aluminide powder is used in aerospace for jet engines and turbine blades, in energy for nuclear reactors and fuel cells, and in defense for hypersonic vehicles and armor. It is also used in high-performance automotive engine parts, oxidation-resistant coatings, and 3D printing of heat-resistant components. Additionally, it is studied for advanced alloys and materials in research.
