Tungsten Rhenium Alloy Powder (W-3Re) is a high-performance alloy composed of tungsten and rhenium elements. Rhenium content< 5% is also called low-content W-Re alloy. The addition of rhenium enhances the mechanical properties, high-temperature strength, and resistance to creep of tungsten by interacting with the tungsten lattice and impeding the motion of dislocations at high temperature. It offers excellent thermal stability, good electrical conductivity, and high melting point, making it ideal for various demanding applications.

Tungsten and rhenium are both high melting point metals, widely used in high-temperature fields. However, they also have drawbacks. Pure tungsten is brittle and has a low recrystallization temperature; pure rhenium has poor machinability and is expensive. These limitations significantly restrict their application range.
Tungsten-rhenium alloys, made by combining tungsten and rhenium in various compositions, overcome the disadvantages of pure tungsten and pure rhenium. These alloys offer many excellent properties, such as high melting point, high strength, high hardness, high plasticity, high electrical resistivity, high recrystallization temperature, high thermoelectric potential, low vapor pressure, low electron work function, and low ductile-brittle transition temperature. They also have excellent resistance to "water cycle" reactions and are 75-95% cheaper than pure rhenium.
Our Tungsten Rhenium Alloy Powder (W-3Re) is carefully handled during storage and transportation to preserve the quality of our product in its original condition.
