Spherical tungsten-molybdenum (W-Mo) alloy powder is an alloy material primarily composed of two refractory metal elements, tungsten and molybdenum. The powder appears as fine gray-black particles. It combines the characteristics of both tungsten and molybdenum, such as high melting point, high boiling point, high tensile strength, great hardness, ablation resistance, oxidation resistance, and impact resistance.
Research indicates that the melting point of the alloy increases with higher tungsten content. When the tungsten content reaches 25%, the melting point of the alloy is approximately 200°C higher than that of pure molybdenum. The density, hardness, and strength of the alloy also generally improve with increasing tungsten content. For instance, when the tungsten content rises from 0% to 40%, the room-temperature tensile strength increases from 617 MPa to 900 MPa.
